People with disabilities can find opportunity through self-employment, where they had previously encountered barriers in the traditional working world. Easter Seals Self-Employment services works one-on-one with entrepreneurs to evaluate ideas from both a business standpoint and with respect to issues presented by disabilities. Self-Employment Services provides training and assistance in business development and self-employment for people with disabilities who would like to create their own opportunities or expand their current ones. An Easter Seals Self-Employment Specialist can help identify realistic business opportunities, assist in business plan development, and provide referrals to funding alternatives and other business planning services available at no charge.

Since its inception, the FARM Program, with a better than 97% success rate, has helped thousands of farmers with disabilities continue in agriculture, enjoying independence and supporting themselves and their families. The FARM Program proudly serves as a model for similar programs nationwide.
